Ingredients
- 4 carrots
- 2 apples
- 2 lemons
- A little less than a palm of ginger root
- 1 tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp black pepper*
* The recipe originally called for 1 tsp black pepper, which was too strong to enjoy. We tried ½ tsp black pepper, and this seems like the correct amount.
Directions
- Chop carrots, apples, and ginger and add to the blender. Add 2 cups of water.
- Squeeze the juice from the lemons into the mixture. Add turmeric and pepper.
- Blend until it has a smoothie-like consistency.
- Strain into a bowl through a nut milk bag. Squeeze the bag to get all the juice you can out.
- Put the pulp in the blender, add 2 more cups of water and repeat.
